"… Sarah Savage, daughter of Capt. Thomas and Mary (Symmes) Savage, … buried June 26, 1713, at Salem."
[This burial date, asserted by many secondary sources, is not found in the Salem VRs. It is probably the burial date of the wife of son John Higginson, Hannah {Gardner} Higginson, who died 24 Jun 1713 according to Salem VRs, p. 5:327. Of Sarah (Savage) Higginson, the wife of the father John Higginson, Perley, in his History of Salem, p. 1:158, says "she died, his widow, in 1722". Wife Sarah is mentioned in John's will dated 14 Aug 1718, so clearly did not die in 1713. The extent to which this myth has propagated is shown by an article found in Essex Institute Collections describing church plates (here), including a plate engraved "The Gift of Sarah Higginson To the first Church in Salem 1720", and then proceeding to list her death date as 1713.
