The identification found linked to Joseph Carter, i.e., this Sarah Perry, b. Sherborn 10 Feb 1705 to Samuel and Joanna Perry is wrong. Middlesex Probate 17235: Samuel Perry of Sherborn's daughter named as Sarah Eames in 1752. The death date given on this page, 22 Oct 1756, belongs to a Sarah Whitney, apparently a Sarah Perry who married Elnathan Whitney. While the probate of Joseph shows no indication of a wife, his estate is insolvent so contains no list of heirs. There is a charge for nursing Joseph in his last illness owed to Sarah Carter, but this is probably the daughter, and no dower is ever set aside for a widow or allowance given out of the personal estates. Sarah clearly was much younger than Joseph, given the numerous children born to her up until 1749. Presumably, based on this consideration, she wasn't born more than a couple of years before 1710, or much later than 1715 based on the marriage date.
