"… the date of the birth of Sarah, daughter of Thomas and Sarah Perkins, must … be an error. The Norwich records specifically call her the daughter of Thomas and Sarah, but they state that she was born 20 April 1730, 4 days before the recorded death of her father's first wife! Since she received a share of her father's estate but none of John French's she must have been, as the record states, Sarah's (the second wife's) daughter and born posthumously two months after the death of her father in 1731, and was baptised when she was five days old, 25 April 1731. Perhaps the town clerk made an error in recording her birth, or the record has been misread."
