"Sarah Patten, b. Cambridge 27 January 16[38?] (the published record for Sarah's birth leaves the last two digits of the year blank; as the birth is entered between those of brothers Thomas and Nathaniel, we suggest 1638 as the year of birth [NEHGR 4:182]); m. after 6 April 1669 (when she was called 'Sarah Pattin' in the distribution of her father's estate [Rodgers 2:545]) and before 24 September 1677 (when 'Sarah, wife of Jonas [sic]' Woodward died at Cambridge) Amos Woodward, son of George Woodward [Bond 657; Parker-Ruggles 484-85]. (In his will of 9 October 1679, 'Amos Woodward of Cambridge' included bequests to 'my brother Thomas Patten of Billerica,' to 'my brother Nathaneel Patten,' and to 'Sarah Grigs, daughter of my sister Grigs' [MPR 5:101-2].)"
