References
  1. MySource:Jrich/History and Anecdotes of The Skillin Family gives the birth date as 25 Dec 1712. But the reliability of this is unsure, as this source is one of many that mistakenly identifies her maiden name as "Mills" (as does Source:Sargent, William M. Skillings Family and others). Source:Davis, Walter Goodwin. Ancestry of Sarah Miller, 1755-1840 : Wife of Lieut. Amos Towne of Arundel (Kennebunkport) Maine,p. 7, identifies Sarah as daughter of Benjamin Miller and Lydia Fernald. She is named Sarah Miller in both the marriage records and intentions filed in Scarborough, and in the church record of the marriage (see the Family page). The will of Benjamin Miller, dated 27 Jan 1746, proved 30 May 1750, names as one of his daughters "Sarah Skillen" (see Source:New Hampshire, United States. Probate Records of the Province of New Hampshire, p. 3:423).
