Sarah (née Lockhart) Ripple, does not appear in the 1860 Census, but Jacob, age 32, is living in the Township No 6, Range 10, Crawford County, and post office of Palestine, with his children as follows: Elizabeth 18, Helen 9, Mary 7, Emma 6, Bayard 1, Franklin 17, and Jacob 4. All children are shown to have been born in Illinois, where Jacob was born in Indiana. page No 291
