- The oldest was thought to be either Emmett or John Hughes. - Cyrenus Wright Hughes married a Nelson and to them were born 2 sons and six daughters. - James Hughes was killed in a duel at Lebonon, Kentucky, when a young man but he also killed this antagonist. - George Hughes was killed in the Civil War on the Union Side. - Albert G. Hughes also married a Nelson and had 3 sons and 2 daughters. - A. Hart Hughes had six children. He squandered about $10,000 on drink. - Sally Hughes married Feeling G. Coffey and they had 4 sons and 2 daughters. - Spencer Boyd Hughes married a McBeath. They had 2 sons and 2 daughters. - Abner J.
