GOTT, Sarah, d. Nathaniel and Sarah, [born] Dec. 24, 1712.

  2. Sarah is the only Sarah Gott with a recorded birth between 1700 and the date of marriage, a limit suggested by the range of child births for her and Daniel. That combined with the use of the name Nathaniel for the first son, and again when the first one died, strongly indicates Daniel's wife is Nathaniel's daughter. Her father died in Concord in 1727, so his probate file (which contains only an administrator's bond and inventory anyway) is too early to possibly tell who she married. However, a Middlesex deed proves the relationship: Vol. 68, p. 412 25 Aug 1738: Daniel Noyes of Sudbury yeoman and Sarah Noyes my wife for £400 convey to William Wheeler Jun'r of Concord parcels in Concord about 80 acres "all the above bargained Premises was Mr Nathaniel Gotts formerly of said Concord dec'd Father in law to me the said Daniel Noyes and father of me the said Sarah Noyes". "And Whereas I Joseph Noyes Sen'r having married the widow of the said Mr Nathaniel Gott now I the said Joseph Noyes Sen'r of the abovesd Sudbury do by these presents freely give my Consent that my now married wife Sarah Noyes that was formerly said Mr Nathaniel Gott's widow should give yield up and surrender her Right of Dowry and Power of thirds of in and unto the above demised Premises...and I Sarah Noyes wife of the said Joseph Noyes Sen'r do by these presents freely willingly give yield up and Surrender all my Right of Dowry and Power of Thirds of in and unto the above demised Premises...". Signed by Daniel Noyes, Sarah Noyes, Joseph Noyes, Sarah Noyes.
