  2. 2.0 2.1 Source:Torrey, Clarence Almon. New England Marriages Prior to 1700 erroneously identifies Sarah as the daughter of Joseph, but at least cites the source that identifies who she really is, the daughter of Richard. The situation is a little unclear because Richard's will mentions neither Sarah nor her children, suggesting she died without heirs, but the probate of her husband 16 Jan 1678 awards administration to "John Goad of Roxbury (Brother to the Widdow of sd. Merrifeild now also dece'd)", and because John dies about a month later, on 20 Apr 1679, Peter Killey of Roxbury is appointed administrator de bonis non. The probate is cited on John's page.
