    KENNEY/KEENEY, John (-1670) & Sarah [FARR], m/2 John HOLMES 1672; by 1657; Salem (see Keeney) {Salem 2:423}
    [Note: p. 878, KEENEY, is a duplicate record that points to the KENNEY record above, no sources attached to that entry. The marriage "by 1657" is not justified by the source Source:Perley, Sidney. History of Salem, Massachusetts, Vol. 2, p. 423, which says "John Keyney died in the autumn of 1670, leaving a wife Sarah." Vol. 3, p. 52, not cited by Torrey, says, "John Holmes, born in 1639, married widow Sarah Kene April 21, 1672" and lists the births of 4 children to them. Nor is this John Keyney/Kene covered in the descendants of Henry Kenney discussed on Vol. 2, p. 187-8. Clearly this estimated marriage date of 1657, the basis of which is unknown, is out of line with the estimated birth of Sarah Farr, but the probate of her brother clearly shows she married John Holmes by Nov 1672, making it very probable she was the widow Sarah Kene. Possibly the 1657 is a typo, meant to be 1667, which might be more about when we would expect Sarah Farr to marry?]
