  2.   There are two Sarah W. Dunnell's who married Harmons very close together according to town records: Sarah W. Harmon m. either 13 or 30 Jan 1848 Stephen Harmon; and Sarah W. Harmon m. 3 Jun 1849 Charles L Harmon.

Source:Harmon, Artemas Canfield. Harmon Genealogy, Comprising All Branches in New England doesn't identify the parents of either one. It says (p. 115) that Charles L. Harmon m. Sarah W. Dunnell who was b. 1834. While this birthdate seems too young for a woman who married in 1849 and had a child in 1850, it seems to match the ages listed in the various census records for Sarah (in 1860-1880 they are living with Charles' parents Phineas and Naomi Harmon). The gravestone on Find A Grave gives Sarah's dates as 1833-1905.

Source:Harmon, Artemas Canfield. Harmon Genealogy, Comprising All Branches in New England says (p. 60) that Stephen Harmon probably married 13 Jan 1848 Sarah M. Donnell of Buxton. While the marriage record in Buxton does look like an "M.", a copy and the intention both seem to be a "W." The 1860 census shows Stephen and wife "Sarah W." living in Buxton, and Sarah is age 37, so born 1822 or 1823. The census also adds a useful piece of information not found in the Harmon Genealogy, namely their eldest daughter was named Rachel (though, unfortunately, she died two years later of diphtheria according to Buxton records). Helped by the Buxton records, we know Stephen Harmon died in 1865, and Sarah remarried 1875 to Joseph Hanscomb. She seems to be living as a single woman in the 1880 census as "Sarah Hanscomb", age 57.
