Last Will and Testament of Sarah Vanwinkle
In the name of the benevolent Father of all.
I Sarah Vanwinkle of Perry County State of Indiana do make and publish this my last will and testament. After my doctor bill and my funeral expenses are paid and two pair of head and foot grave stones for myself and deceased husband are paid for I give and bequeath the balance of a note on Baker and Klee[?] by W. Mienard given to A. J. Adye and assigned to me dated January 1st 1877 calling for Three Hundred Dollars with a credit of ten dollars money on hands to my son Hiram Vanwinkle.
The residue of my estate I wish to ber equally divided between my surviving children.
I do hereby nominate and appoint my son Hiram Vanwinkle Executor of this my last will and testament.
In testimony hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 9th day of October 1877.

The State of Indiana, Perry County SS:
Be it remembered that on the 20th day of November 1877 Robert C. Thom one of the subscribing witnesses to the within and foregoing last Will and Testament of Sarah Vanwinkle late of said county, deceased personally appeared before the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Perry County in the State of Indiana, and being duly sworn by the Clerk of said Court, upon his oath declared and testified as follows, that is to say: That on the 9th day of October 1877 he saw the said Sarah Vanwinkle sign her name to said instrument in writing as and for her last will and testament and that this deponent at the same time heard the said Sarah Vanwinkle declare the said instrument in writing to be her last Will and Testament and that the said instrument in writing was at the same time at the request of the said Sarah Vanwinkle and with her consent attested and subscribed by the said R. C. Thom and John Robertson in the presence of said testatrix and in the presence of each other as subscribing witnesses thereto and that the said Sarah Vanwinkle was at the time of the signing and subscribing of said instrument in writing as aforesaid, of full age (that is, more than twenty one years of age) and of sound and disposing mind and memory and not under coerson [i.e., coercion] or restraint as the said deponent verily believes and further deponent says not.
