  3. Savage says Sarah bapt. 11 Dec 1670, while Putnam's Historical Magazine shows Sarah b. 22 Nov 1674. Both dates are found in the records, but neither author seems aware of the date they don't report. Presumably, given the father's age, the birth record may have been misrecorded, and should have been 1670, in which case the two records fit together nicely. Otherwise, there were two Sarahs, the first dying and second being born 4 years later. However, Source:Clapp, Ebenezer. Clapp Memorial : Record of the Clapp Family in America, Containing Sketches of the Original Six Emigrants, and a Genealogy of Their, p. 200, says she m. 1689 Joseph Mather of Connecticut. The year of marriage would suggests she was born 1670 and the other record is an error.
