"HARSHAW – Mrs. Sarah S. Harshaw was born June 5, 1845; was married to S. M. Harshaw Sept. 1, 1860; professed the religion of Christ in 1871, and departed this life Aug. 26, 1890. She was born in Mississippi, married and lived there until Dec., 1886, when she, with her husband and family, moved to White county, Ark., where she lived at the time of her death. She was a consistent member of the M. E. Church, a true Christian, a devoted wife and mother, and beloved by everyone. Those who knew her best loved her most. She was ever ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, and to sympathize with with [sic] those in distress. O so much do we miss her; but our loss is her eternal gain. We tender our heartfelt sympathy to the heart-broken husband and children, and pray that they may meet that dear wife and mother in heaven, where all will be peace, joy and love forever and ever. ADA LEWIS." --Arkansas Methodist Sep 17, 1890
