  3.   There are two Sarah Adams of Medfields, who each marry a Samuel Ellis.

    Medfield VRs, p. 13:
Sarah, d/o Henry and Prudence, Dec. 13, 1697.
Sarah, d/o Samuel and Sarah, Sept. 5, 1704.

Source:Adams, Andrew N. Genealogical History of Henry Adams, of Braintree, Mass., and His Descendants clearly is confused and has both Sarahs marrying the same man and dying at the same time, succeeded by the same second wife.
    p. 10: daughter of Henry: "m. 1724 Samuel Ellis, son of Samuel, b. 1696. He m. 1st SarahAdams, m. 2nd 1735 Miriam Partridge ..."
    p. 316: daughter of Samuel: "m. 1724, Samuel Ellis, b. 1696; d. 1778. She d. 1733. Mr. Ellis m. 2nd, Jan. 20, 1735, Miriam Partridge. Samuel Ellis and wife, Sarah, were administrators of her father's estate."

    p. 81: Samuel Elliss & Sarah Adams both of Meadfield Nov. 20, 1719
    p. 119: Samll. Ellis & Sarah Adams both of Medfield Oct. 30, 1724.

    Medfield VRS, p. 208:
    ELLICE, Sarah, w. Samuell, Apr. 1, 1725.
    ELLICE, Sarah, w. Samuel, Sept. 29, 1733.

The key to this confusion is, as often is the case, in the probate files of the father.
Suffolk Case 6506: The will of Henry Adams dated 1727 mentions son in law Samuell Ellice who married with my Daughter Sarah Adams Deceased. So his daughter is the one that died in 1725. The mention of Samuel and no grandchildren in the will of Henry suggests they had no children (none are found in the VRs).
Suffolk Case 5954: Samuel Ellice is granted administration of his father in law Samuel Adams of Medfield. So his daughter is the one that died in 1733. She is the mother of the 5 children recorded in Medfield.

Presumably the marriages follow the birth dates so that the older Sarah has the first marriage, and the younger has the second. Medfield VRs show one Samuel Ellice born 1695/96 and one born 1697, but no attempt is made to show which one married each Sarah Adams. (Of the 5 children born in Medfield - Lydia, Peter, Rachel, Samuel and Sarah - Lydia may suggest that the Samuel b. 1696 is the one that married the daughter of Samuel Adams, since that Samuel had a sister Lydia, but more research is needed.)
