Samuel Wyles was born in Pennsylvania. His mother was from Sweden and his grandmother was from Germany. There is little else know about him as his ancestry has never been traced although many individuals put forth much effort with no results. Samuel Wyles Will stated "that our bodies be decently interred in the burying ground on the Ritchey farm where Elder Isaac Ritchey and family are buried" The family would be Elder Isaac Ritchey and wife and the two unmarried children, plus Samuel Wyles and wife Hannah Ritchey. Samuel was married to Hannah Ritchey, daughter of Isaac and Mary (Whetstone) Ritchey. Samuel and Hannah had nine children one of which died as a child.
