Samuel Stratton (Samuel³ [who married Elizabeth Fletcher], Samuel², Samuel¹), b. 1684, m. 11 Jan 1709/10 Sarah Allen. Inherited the homestead by deed of gift, moved to Rutland, Mass., about 1736.
Note: Source:Cutter, William Richard. New England Families, Genealogical and Memorial, p. , completely mixes up two cousins named Samuel Strattons. One Samuel, s/o Richard, gs/o Samuel, m. Ruth and had a son Samuel b. 2 Feb 1689/90. Another Samuel, s/o Samuel, gs/o Samuel, m. Elizabeth Fletcher and had a son Samuel b. abt. 1684. Cutter shows the husband of Sarah Allen as son of the second couple (which is correct) but with the birth date of the first one (which is incorrect). The Samuel who was son of Samuel and Ruth was b. 2 Feb 1689/90, and d. unmarried 28 Jan 1715/16, explicitly according to Concord VRs, while Samuel & Sarah Stratton were having children until 1733.
↑ The estimated birth date of about 1684 taken from the Book of Strattons^S1, p. 1:166. Presumably, it is based on the parents marriage 28 Nov 1683 per Concord VRs, and the fact that Samuel is the eldest son (the third son's recorded birth is in 1690).
