Thomas P., of Newton, but of the first of the Stonington branch,) son of Thomas Prentice (790) and wife Sarah, (Stanton) of Newton, Mass., and grandson of old Capt. Thomas P., (794) of Newton, Mass., where he was born about 1680. 'Died April 24, 1728, Æ. 48,' in Stonington, Conn. Married Esther Hammond, in Newton, daughter of Nathaniel H., of Newton. Three of their children were born in N. namely, Samuel, Praise, and Mary. 'He owned a large tract of land in Stonington, Conn., (now N. Stonington, before 1700, and removed there about 1709 or 1710.'"
