The Will of Samuel Poore, Sr. - Essex Probate Record #22378, 25 March 1684

"To the Honorored Court now sitting att Ipswitch this 25th of March 1683/4: This may inform your honors that this which is hear presented is the non cuperative will of Samuel Pore late of Newbury.

1. I give to my son Samuel Poore tow akars of upland ajoyning to that fowar akars which was John ___mans and the lote of salt marsh in Salisbury meddows lieing upon the _____ _____ Krork (creek) he paying ten pounds to my executor.

2. I give to my son Edward Pore the lot of upland ajoyning to John Poores land: and the lot of upland in the plains called the bottom lot to be to him thre years after my death: and one quarter part of the benifit of my frehowld: he paying ten pounds to my executor:

3. I give to my fowar dattars: Elizabeth and Sara and Hannah and Mary: twenty pounds apece: the one half to be paid to them att their marriage and the other halfe with in fieve years after.

4. I give to my son Benjamin twenty pounds when he comith of age and one quartar part of the benifit of my frehowld:

5. I give to my grand child Mary Parson ten shillins:

I give to my son, Joseph Pore my now dweling hows and barne and orchard and the eight akars of land ajoyning to the hows and my lot of meddow at Plumb Island and one half of my frehowld: and a good father bead with all _____ thar unto belonging: and all stok exsepte thos _____ as hearaftar nameid:

7. My will is that my belovid wife shall have the howll estat in her hands to mak the best improofment she can of it with the help of my son Joseph: providid she remain a widdow soo long: and att the end of Here years: to be the lawfull inheritance of my son Joseph Pore: hown I apoyent to be my Executor: only my wife shall have all my howsolld goods att her desposall and tow cowes and six shep: and my wife shall have the little rowm and som privilidg in the sallar: and half the orchard and the keping of tow cows and six shepe: to be and remain as her right and privilidgs duoring her widowhood: bot when she shal marry again then my wife to have the tow cows and six ship and howsald goods and the benifet of the orchards of my lands and all the rest to retorn to my son Joseph Pore, my Executor:

8. I give to my dattar Rebecah Smith seaven pound: and I apoyent my wife to _____ and pay all my debts whill she hath the estate in her hands: and I apoyent my Executor to pay all the ligisis to the rest of my children ass they may be owed: allsoo my will is that my son: Joseph shall pay to my wife seven pound a year anually: during her widowhood: not to be paid untill thre year after my death:

Rebecca Poore, Joseph Poore, Benjamin Poore, Hannah Poore, and Mary Poore, came before me and signified that they know that this was the expression of Samuel Poore deceased, before his death. And the (?substance) of it written in his life time, though not formally and according to law compleate and they every one of them expressed that they are all of them fully satisfied and contented with this disposal of the estate as above witnessed before me.
