    Samuel2 Platts (Samuel), born, probably in England, about 1648; deposed 6 July, 1697, that he was 48 years of age (Essex Court Files). … He was town clerk several years and most of the deeds and wills of his townspeople, made during the last years of his life, were drawn by him. He died 24. Mar., 1725-6, in his 78th year (G. S.). His will, dated 1 Mar., 1719-20, mentions wife, Mary, daughter Bethiah Boynton and her children (unnamed) (Essex Probate, 315:344).
