Pierce, Samuel, s. of Thomas, [died] Feb. 27, 1656. [Given the discrepancy with other sources, and noting that in the published version of the vital records, the record for Samuel is right under the record for his brother Joseph who died Feb. 27, 1649, it is likely that this represents a transcription error and should be 27 Oct 1655 as reported in other sources? And then having transcribed the wrong month, the error was apparently compounded by promoting the year 1655 to the modern equivalent, 1656 if one thinks the month was Feb.]
