Lt. Samuel Hubbard, s/o Samuel Hubbard and Sarah Clark, b. 1713, d. Holden 3 Dec 1783, m. (1) Eunice Woodward, m. (2) Abigail Clark, m. (3) Abigail ---. "He was a soldier in the revolution, lieutenant of his company."
[This entry is about as much wrong as it is right, or maybe more. The birth of 1713 is the result of a naive calculation with his age at death, his birth is found in Concord in 1714, right where a correct calculation would place it. He indeed had three wives, but the two Abigails named here were a single person, and not named Clark. The assumption of maiden name Clark is probably an assumption based on the son born in 1767 who was given the name Clark. But this is explained by his mother's maiden name and does not require inventing a fictitious wife. The third wife was widow Elizabeth Drury. Samuel was called a Lieutenant in the 1767 birth record of his son Clark, so being a lieutenant predates the Revolution, and since he would be 62 at is start, the veracity of his service in the Revolution needs verification, especially given the obvious lack of fact checking employed by Cutter.]
