Samuel Hallowell [#5], "probably son of Joseph2, b. "probably at Lynn about 1705", buried Lynn 15 Dec 1755, m. (1) Lynn 10 Aug 1725 Charity Mansfield, m. (2) 29 Feb 1729/30 Mary Norwood. Will of "Samuel Hallowell of Lynn ... blacksmith", dated 5 Dec 1755, recorded 1 Jan 1756, names wife Mary, to six children Samuel, John, Edward, Henry, Ruth and Charity. Friend Samuel Johnson of Lynn to be executor.
[Note: No discussion of discrepancy between first child's birth and marriage date. Birth about 1705 would make him under age at time of marriage. No records of any children of Joseph2 found apparently, since births all estimated ["After Joseph Hallowell's marriage ... the Lynn records are silent about this family"]. Birth of Samuel, s/o Joseph1, is 1677, probably too early to be this man, but no details given for him that rule him out [alive at age 16, nothing further]. If he had a family he would be old enough to have such a son, and Joseph2 is thought to have moved to Malden. So, basis for proposed parentage is unclear.]
