[County Court Returns] Samuel, s. of Joseph, [born] Dec. [blank], 1667.
[Note: original here. This is only 8 months after Dorothy's birth in April 1667, p. 99. The original does say 1667, but follows a bunch of dates from 1669 and if it was 1669, it would be in chronological order and solve the proximity to Dorothy?? NEHGR, Vol. 10, p. 234, "Early Records of Malden, gives Dec 1667, but appears to simply transmit the County Records, rearranged by date, losing the 1669 context.]

    Samuel Hills [#23], s/o Joseph Hills #4] and Hannah Smith, b. Malden 16 Dec 1669, d. Dorchester 7 Jan 1704, m. Sarah ---, who by 1718 was Sarah Ferrer.
[Note: the basis for this date is unknown. It is suspected that the date "16 Dec" was taken from the NEHGR article mentioned above, it being the date of the birth just above Samuel's. However, the NEHGR article says 1667, not 1669, and in the original, Samuel's birth does not follow the 16 Dec birth. So it matches neither of these two sources exactly, and it is not clear where this date came from.]
