    "(Family 8.) Samuel Hall3, Richard2, John1: b. in Middletown, Sept., 1658; d. in Middletown, March 24, 1740. The following is from the gravestones of Middletown:

    'Here lyeth the body of Abigail Hall ye wife of Samuel Hall, Jr., who d. March ye 25, 1725-6, aged 26 years.' [She was first wife of this man's son.]

    'Here lyeth the body of Lieut. Samuel Hall died March ye 24, 1740, in the 82d year of his age.'"
