Samuel4 Hale (John,3 John,2 Samuel1), born at Glastonbury, Conn., 27 Feb. 1701/2, died at Bernardston, Hampshire Co., Mass., after 1780; … He probably moved to Bernardston, Mass., not long after 1765. He called himself of Bernardston, 24 May 1769, when he conveyed to Samuel Hale of Chatham, Conn., and of 'Barnard Town,' 13 July 1773, when he conveyed to 'my son Chiliab Hale' of Chatham. Samuel Hale of Bernardston conveyed part of Lot 183 in Bernardston to Chileab Hale of the same, 3 Jan. 1776, and to his 'son Chiliab,' 12 Dec. 1780, parts of Lots 27 and 183."
