'Samuel Graff, b. c1708. d. c1770, Newberry Township, York County, Pennsylvania. He married Christina. She married secondly, George Bear. ... He was taxed at Newberry Township in 1767 next to John Graff. He was taxed there in 1769 as renter. He was not taxed at Newberry Township in 1771 or 1774. On 30 May 1774 his widow Christian was married to George Bear of Earl Township when she and her children signed a confirmation of the deed to Joseph Long. The deed of 1774 written at York states that Samuel Grove was "late of Earl Township". He apparently returned to Earl Township after 1769 where he died shortly thereafter.'
