    Samuel Garfield [son of Thomas & Mercy (Bigelow) Garfield], b. Apr. 11, 1720 at Watertown; removed and settled in Spencer, where he died June 22, 1792, aged 72. "A soldier of two Colonial wars and of the Revolution."; m. (1) April 17, 1751, at Watertown, Hannah Garfield of Waltham. She had one hild in Spencer and died there July 27, 1755. He m. (2) in Spencer, May 27, 1756, Abigail Pierce of Holden, who had ten children and died in Spencer his widow, Jan. 23, 1816, aged 83.
