"1243 Samuel (Caleb, Samuel, Philip) was born at Middletown, Conn., Oct. 2, 1720 and died Dec. 10, 1775. He shared in his father's will and is referred in the settlement of the estate as Samuel Galpin of Wallingford. Samuel, his wife, and sons James, Samuel, and Ozias are buried in South Cemetery, Kensington Parish, Berlin, Conn. He owned land in the Blue Hills area of that parish. His will records gifts of land and personal property to Abigail, Anna, Beulah, and Mary. Land was given to Ozias and in defining the same mention is made of Joseph and James, the latter being dead at the time."
