[Note: Source:Snow, Nora Emma. Snow-Estes Ancestry, p. 256, only lists three wives, saying "one account gives him a third unnamed wife but no evidence found to prove it". The Dudley Family gives him four wives but only names two, and like this source, doesn't explain the basis for believing there were four. It might be reasonable, given Samuel's long history of marital bliss, to assume a third marriage occupied the gap between the death of the second wife in 1742 and the marriage to the last wife in 1747, but since there is no name for the third wife, this is obviously not supported by any marriage record. It could be there is a deed or other evidence that indicates Samuel had a wife during this gap (i.e., without naming her), but until it can be cited, it seems more prudent to go along with Ms. Snow.]
