    [Note, parentage struck out because it is wrong as is clearly shown by the age at death, which Crane apparently overlooked or ignored. A hint that Gershom is his father, not Dr. Simon, is the birth of first son Nathan "in Cambridge", and then confirmed by agreement of Gershom's son Samuel's birthdate as recorded in Cambridge with the age at death.]
