    Samuel Blake [#16], s/o James Blake and Wait Simpson, b. 6 Sep 1715, d. 1 May 1754, m. 5 Jun 1740 Patience White. An account by grandson Edward Howe, based on his mother Patience (Blake) Howe's diary: "My Father was one who was often from home several days together, in measuring and laying out Land. The last of April, in the year 1754, on Saturday night, he returned home very unwell. A fever set in, and he died the Wednesday following, May 1, 1754, in the 39th year of his age." Will of "Samuel Blake of Dorchester" dated 17 Feb 1752, proved 24 May 1754, names wife Patience; children Samuel Blake, Edward Blake, Patience Blake, Jonathan Blake & James Blake. Wife to executrix.
