- ↑ The Samuel Bancroft given as son of Thomas in Stiles, b. 1667, died soon after birth according to the Springfield Vital Records. According to his gravestone, this Samuel was born about 1669, and, based on the will of John Barber, second husband of Thomas Bancroft's second wife, would have been the youngest child of Bancroft's first wife, Margaret Wright.
