At Adams Center, N. Y., April 18th, 1872, Samuel L. Babcock, aged 72 years, 9 months, and 11 days. Bro. Babcock was born in Brookfield, where, under the ministrations of Eld. Eli S. Bailey, he experienced religion, and joined the 2d Brookfield Church. Some thirty-five years ago, having moved to Adams Center, he joined the Adams Church, of which he remained a faithful member until death. He was a prompt and upright business man, a warm and generous friend, a conscientious and faithful Christian. All classes in the community share in his loss. In the church he was a faithful and willing burden-bearer; in his family an exemplary and loving father. He truly "came to his grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in his season." - Job 5: 26 A. B. P.
