20 Mar 1775: "I the Subscriber, Widow of the late Samuel Allen of Billerica in said County, deceased, am fully satisfied with the Provision made by the said Samuel Allen in his last Will & Testament, for me, & desire that the same may be executed. - Hannah [her mark] Allen

I Samuel Allen, of Billerica in the County of Middlesex & Province of Massachusetts Bay, Yeoman, being of perfect & sound Mind, do make & ordain this my last Will & Testament - That is to say -

Imprimis. I order & direct my Executor hereafter named, decently to inter my Body - & to discharge & pay all my just Debts & Funeral Charges, in a convenient Time after my Decease.

Item. I give & bequeath unto Hannah, my Wife the Use & Improvement of the East Part of my Dwelling House, of all my Land upon the East Side of the great Road, of two Cows, & of a Horse & Chaise, & also of one Third Part of my Personal Estate, during her Widowhood, she maintaining Sarah Godfrey during the same Term. ["presumably Samuel Allen's sister-in-law, daughter of Peter and Hannah Godfrey, born in Newbury on December 16, 1715"S2.]

Item. I give & bequeath unto my Sons Thomas & Jeremiah Allen, their Heirs & Assigns forever, the remaining Part of my Personal Estate, to be equally divided between them.

Item. I give unto my Daughter Abigail Lunt, her Heirs or Assign the sum of Two Pounds to be paid by my said Sons Thomas & Jeremiah jointly in one Year after my Deceased.

Item. I give & bequeath unto my 'Daughter Dorcas Parsons, her Heirs & Assigns the sum of Two Pounds to be paid by my said Sons Thomas & Jeremiah jointly in one year after my Decease.

Item I give & bequeath unto my two Grand-Children, Sarah & Mary Allen, Children of my late Son Samuel Allen, deceas'd, the sum of Three Pounds to each, to be paid by my said Sons jointly, when they shall arrive to the Age of Eighteen Years.

Item. I give & bequeath unto my afores'd Son Thomas, his Heirs & Assigns forever, the Easterly part of the Land of which my Wife is to have the Improvement, when her Right of Improving shall cease, from easterly Corner of Sheldon's Land to a Black Oak Stump with Stones about it in the Fence by the Road leading to Patten's Mill; and also I give & bequeath unto him the one third Part of the apples that shall yearly grow in the Orchard behind my House for Ten Years after my Decease.

Item. I give & bequeath unto my afores'd Son Jeremiah his Heirs & Assigns forever the Easterly Part of the Dwelling House together with the Remainder of the Land on the East Side of the Country Road when my Wife's Right to improve the same shall cease, he maintaining the afores'd Sarah Godfrey during her whole Life (if she shall survive my Wife).

Lastly. I constitute & appoint my afores'd Son Jeremiah, Sole Executor of this my last Will & Testament, hereby utterly disallowing, revoking & Disannulling all & every other Will & Testament heretofore made & ordained; & ratifying & confirming this alone to be my last Will & Testament. In Witness whereof I hereunto set my Hand & Seal this Thirteen Day of Feb'y One Thousand seven Hundred & seventy five & Fifteenth year of his Majesty's Reign.
