Salmon was the son of Ezra and Elizabeth Wight Kingsley. He married Lydia Burgess on 24 January 1743 in Windham County, CT. She was the daughter of Joseph and Thankful Snow Burgess. Salmon and Lydia had 12 children: Nathan, Eunice/Unice, Ebenezer, Clizabeth, William, Jonathan, Salmon, Lydia, Jerusha, Oren/Orrin, Stephen, Tryphena. Lydia died about 1811 and it is not known where she is buried. The family is said to have come to Steuben County about 1811. Salmon is buried here with his son, Stephen, and Stephen's wife, Rebecca Bidwell Kingsley. There are three small stones in the same area, none of which are readable, but one of the stones is said to be for Mary Crawford who died in 1833.
