At Leonardsville, N. Y., April 1, 1895, Mrs. Sara H. Clarke Maxson, aged 88 years.
She was born March 8, 1807, and was the seventh child of twelve which were born to Jacob B. Clarke and Mary Wells Clarke. She was born in Hopkinton, R. I., where in early life she became a Christian, probably uniting with the old Hopkinton Church. In 1828 she was married to Russell Maxson, who died June, 1889. Soon after their marriage they removed to Preston, Chenango Co., and about 28 years ago moved to Leonardsville. She was a member of the Preston Church - which I think is almost or quite extinct. Having been an invalid over thirty years, she was considered the frailest of the children, but was the last to depart. She leaves one son and three daughters. Services conducted by the writer.
