  3. Mitchell's History of Bridgewater, p. 105, names the wife of John Shaw (i.e., mother of Ruth) as Ruth Angier, b. 1705, despite her own birth record, and her children's birth records, naming her as Sarah. This is copied by several other sources, such as Kingman. It appears this was simply an error on Mitchell's part, as pointed out by Bond, p. 674.
