Ruth Kuperus Funeral services for Ruth Eleanor Kuperus, 81, were held Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the Christian Reformed Church in Pease with the Rev. Gerald Vander Hoek and Pat Hennen officiating. Burial followed at the Pease Cemetery. Music was provided by Dorothy Brink, Peggy Swenson and Toka Ubben. Ruthís grandchildren served as pallbearers and her great-grandchildren were honorary pallbearers. Arrangements were by the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home of Milaca. Ruth died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001 at Fairview Northland Regional Hospital in Princeton following a two-month struggle with multiple health problems. She was born Sept. 6, 1919 in Bemis, S.D., to Henry and Nellie (Beukema) Rindels. In 1922, she moved with her family to Bogus Brook Township in Mille Lacs County, Minn. She attended the Eastern Christian School in Bogus Brook Township and later graduated from there. She then worked in the Deluxe Cafe in Milaca until she moved to Grand Rapids, Mich. She worked there for several years before moving to the Twin Cities, where she worked for a few more years, before moving back to Pease. She worked at Mohlerís Store in Pease until she married Frank Kuperus in March of 1947. They moved to the farm near Pease, where they resided until the present time. Ruth was a lifetime member of the Christian Reformed Church of Pease. She was an active member of the Mothers Club, the Mission Society and the Ladies Aid, where she served for a time as treasurer. She is survived by her husband, Frank of Milaca; two sons, Mitch and wife Edie and Larry and wife Elaine, all of Milaca; five grandchildren, Matt Kuperus, Mike Kuperus, Greg Kuperus, Jeff Kuperus and Jan Kolb; two great-grandchildren, Grant and Megan Kolb; one sister, Mary Dahl of Milaca; and by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Cornelius; and two sisters, Bessie and Theresa. References
