Although no records exist, Ruth's parents were probably Benjamin LOOMIS and Ann FITCH as discussed by "Three Ruth Loomises and Their Marriages" in The American Genealogist vol 21: 219-221.

In addition, some have mistakenly said Ruth LOOMIS had a second marriage. Since Ruth's husband Peter Mills lived until 1770, this Ruth cannot be the one who m. Robert BARNARD in Windsor on 1 Nov 1738 or Ebenezer Darte in Bolton on 16 Jun 1726.

    Peter married..RUTH LOOMIS of Windsor (WV), born about 1705. Abbott says she was buried 19 October 1773, but no verification of his or any other date has been found. While E&E Loomis say she was the child born at Windsor 27 December 1698 to Thomas and Hannah (Porter) Loomis (WV), Donald L. Jacobus concluded that Peter's wife was more likely the daughter of Benjamin and Ann (Fitch) Loomis.
