According to 'HIAWATHA (KS) DAILY WORD' Newspaper, Obituary; Ruth was a prominent business woman of 27 years She died unexpectedly, on Oct 11, 1970, at Storemont Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS, following mojor surgery, she was born in Fairview, KS. Jun 13 1900, to Mr, Mrs William F. Lambertson, she was half sister to to the late Congressman W.P. Lambertson, gratuated from Fairview Highschool, attended Kansas State College, member of the Alpha Delta Pi Social sorority. She taught music in rural schools in Brown & Nemaha Counties & at the Saabatha Grade School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. On Sep 17, 1922 She married Leonard Cobun at Fairview, they lived in Sabetha, She is survived by; Dau: Children: Mrs Robert (Nancy) Clew of Sattelite Beach, Florida, Son: Charles L COBUN, lives in Pasadena, MD & four grandchildren of Nancy & Robert & half-sister, Mrs Josie Lewis of Talmage, Nebraska. She moved to Hiawatha in 1943 and operated Cobun Cafe until 1953, then they operated the Sunflower Motel, which they purchased in partnrsip with Mr & Mrs Robert Reynolds in 1955, Funeral Svc. were held: Wednesday Oct 14, 1970, at Meek Mortuary Chapel, by Rev Wayne Castle, intertment : Sabetha Cemetery.
