  3. The Times Argus,(Montpelier-Barre, VT) - Monday, June 24, 2002 reported that Rudolph E. "Rudy" Jackman, 91, of Mc-Laughlin Road and long time resident of Rt. 14, South Barre, died June 19, 2002 at the Rowan Court Health and Rehab. Center. He was born Jan. 7, 1911 in Websterville, son of Mark and Jessie (Laird) Jackman. For over 40 years, he was employed at the Wells-Lamson Quarry and later became general manager of the crushing plant for Kelley Construction Company, retiring in 1970. He was a veteran of WW II, serving as a military police officer with the U.S. Army.

    On July 21, 1941, he married Elsie McLeod in Barre. All of their married life had been spent in South Barre. She died Jan. 6, 1970. He was predeceased by 3 brothers; Lawrence, Robert and Richard Jackman.
    A service of remembrance was held Wednesday, at 2:00 pm in the First Presbyterian Church of Barre with burial in Wilson Cemetery.
