According to the Sallie DeWitt Genealogy, Roxie married T.W.R. Brown in Arkansas at age 17, and moved to Texas three years later (Collinsville and Ethel, Texas). She lived in Texas until she died in about 1973. She had five children, two of those were sons who died as infants. She lived through two world wars, and the Korean and Vietnam wars. She lived through The Great Depression and saw transportation progress from the horse, to the automobile, airplanes and even space travel. She lived the life of a farmer's wife, and was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Her photo was on the front page of the local paper (presumably in November of 1971) shown cooking Thanksgiving dinner at her daughter's home in Whitesboro, Texas, at age 99. She died at her West Main Street home in Whitesboro, Texas, about 1973.

The Sallie DeWitt Genealogy states that Cousin Roxie was a favorite of Lee DeWitt's and he often spoke lovingly of her. She evidently visited the Lee and Claudia DeWitt family in Corpus Christi in the mid-1950's.
