In Alfred., N. Y., Dec. 3d, 1874, Rowland P. Thomas, in the 80th year of his age. Through life, Bro. Thomas had enjoyed almost continued health, and it was only as the infirmities of age came upon him that, in this respect, any essential changes came over him. He had for many years been an honored citizen of the town in which he died, his life being without reproach. He was also a Christian man. For many years he had been a beloved member of the First Seventh-day Baptist Church of Alfred, and he died in the full confidence of the true disciples of Christ. Only a few days before his death, in conversation with his pastor, he said, "I am ready to go." He has left a widow, several children, and a large circle of relatives to mourn their loss. The blessing of his God be upon them!
