    Sewanee, Tenn, June 30---Rev Rowland Hale of Franklin, La., died here this afternoon, aged 62, after an illness of several months.

    Mr. Hale was born in Hertfordshire, England in 1858. He was in this country with Bishop Quintard, entered the Theological Department of the University of the South in 1882, having previously graduated from the Divinity School of King's College, London.

    He served successively in the Episcopal Church in Fayetteville, Tenn., Boston, Sewanee, Murfreesboro and Nashville and for the past 15 years has been Rector of the Churches in Crowley, Franklin, La.

    In 1898, Mr. Hale married Miss Lyde Kirby-Smith, daughter of General E. Kirby-Smith, and is survived by his wife and two daughters, Charlotte and Ruth.
