    ROSA ELLEN NEWTON

Was born February 14, 1893, and died February 7, 1921, age 27 years 11 months and 23 days. She was the daughter of Rev. James T. and Minerva E. Vanwinkle and was married to May Newton, November 10, 1914. Rosa was kind and obedient in the home, the school and the church and all who knew her loved her as a sister. At the early age of fourteen years she united with the Christian church at Bethany Union and was baptized, continuing a consistent member until death.

Rosa was one of a family of six children; Nora, the oldest died in infancy. Those now living are Mary F. Lamon of Valeene; Clarence E. and Stella M. Vanwinkle and Mrs. Lenna Speedy, of Eckerty; besides her husband, these sisters and brothers, she leaves her mother and a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss.

Rosa was stricken down with consumption about seven years ago but bore her suffering with meekness and patience worthy and christian, and before she died told her mother "she was ready and willing to go."
