Ronald C. Bland, age 77, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at home in the arms of his beloved wife, Evelyn
Ron was born on November 15, 1939, in Horton, Kansas, the son of Carl and Alma Edith (Barnett) Bland. He married Joyce Klinger and they later divorced. Ron married Evelyn Pelican on May 26, 1983 in Clinton, Missouri, she survives of the home.
He attended Chilhowie High School. After school, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Ron enjoyed law enforcement and was the Chief of Police in Montrose, Missouri and Clinton, Missouri. He was also a member of the Academy of Drug Enforcement Agency. Ron liked shooting pool, fishing, collecting, and selling antiques, and was a driver for the Amish community members for nearly twenty years.
Ron is survived by his wife, Evelyn; children: Carol Bland and husband Chadd, of South Missouri, Mike Bland, of Springfield, Missouri, Jeannie Anstine, of Holden, Missouri, Jeff Bland and wife Amy, of Windsor, Missouri; step-children, Traci Wheeler, of Carrollton, Missouri, and Chad Frakes, of Carrollton, Missouri; one sister, Karla Kay Bland, of Lees Summit, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Sue Bland, of Racket, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Jerry and Darrell Bland.
A Celebration of Life is planned for a later date.
