    A transcription of his will:

    In the name of God Amen: the 28th day of March 1739 I Rock Savage of the parish of Trefeglwys and Diocese of Bangor being sick & weak of Body, but of perfect memory praise be to God do make constitute & ordain this my Last Will & Testament in manner and form following and after Christian recomendation of Soul and Body I dispose of my worldly goods as followeth

    First I will that all my depts and funeral charges be first paid and discharged, Item I give and bequeath unto Martha Swancotte my sister Margaret Thomas my sister Margary Evans my sister and Mary Lloyd my sister the sum of five shillings each of them a peece, I allso give and bequeath unto John Swancott, my nephew Mary the wife of Andrew Savage Martha Swancotte and Anne Swancotte my neeces the sum of five pounds a peece each of them I allso give & bequeath unto Mary Lloyd and Sarah Lloyd my two neeces, the sum of five pounds a peece, I allso give and bequeath unto Thomas Hall jun my Godson the sum of twenty pounds I allso give & bequeath unto John Evans child the sum of five shillings, I allso give grant devise and bequeath all my Real Estate with all and singular houses outhouses Barns Buildings Orchards with all other appurtenances and other conveniences thereunto belonging or otherwise appertaining unto John Savage my natural Brother in as large and ample maner as I had the s'd Estate from my father Edward Savage Lately deceased for and dureing the term of his natural life and afterwards to his Lawfull heirs if any such be, and in default of such Lawefull heirs to my said Brother John Savage, then I give grant and devise all of my afores'd Estate before mentioned with all appurtenances therunto belonging unto Andrew Savage my [co]usin and to his heirs [*], and I allso nominate and appoint John Savage my Brother Soul Ex[ecutor]of this my Last [Will] and Testament and it is further my will and I do absolutely app[*][*]order Twenty pounds yearly to be paid out of the Rents of my s'd Estate towards the Legacies above mentioned and that all those Legacies shall be paid within the space of foure years next ensueing after my decease by my said Executor John Savage, and if he shall happen to depart this life before the Expiration of the afores'd four years and some of those Legacies remaineing unpaid then it is my will that Andrew Savage shall finish to pay the s'd Legacies, and I do nominate and appoint Thomas Hall and Morris Davies my Cousins to be overseers of this my Last Will and Testament desireing them to see that those my s'd Legacies shall be honestly paid.
