Pioneer Farmer Dies Suddenly Wednesday Night R. A. Warner, 70, Passed In Sleep At Farm Home

    R. A. Warner, 70 year-old pioneer farmer of the Carrollton community died suddenly after retiring Wednesday night at his farm home about three miles Northeast of here. Mr. Warner had been in somewhat failing health for several months, but was able to be up most of the time. He retired early Wednesday night, making the usual noises of a sleeper. Suddenly, he was quiet and his breathing could not be heard. When found by Mrs. Warner, he was unconscious, apparently suffering from a paralytic stroke. He remained unconscious until his death only a few minutes later. The death occurred about one o'clock Wednesday night.

    R. A. Warner was born Feb. 20, 1871, on a farm near that on which he was living at the time of his death. His parents were John Warner and Mary Ann "Mollie" (Johnson) Warner. He lived the entirety of his life in the Carrollton community. He was a member of the Union Baptist church and had belonged to lodges earlier in life.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth F. "Lizzie" (Bryan) Warner; one daughter, Mrs. Ross Brown of Dallas; one son, Emery B. Warner of Chester Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. W. W. Perry and Mrs. Emma Hardcastle, both of Carrollton and two brothers, G. F. Warner of Wiley, Texas and Emmett E. Warner of Irving.

Funeral arrangements had not been made Thursday morning pending the arrival of the son from Pennsylvania.
