Robert L. Stout was born November 28, 1926, on the family farm in Dutch Creek Township of Washington County, the son of Lafayette “Lafe” and Bertha (Brown) Stout. Following the death of his mother at an early age, Bob was raised by his father and stepmother, Ruth. On August 5, 1951, he was united in marriage to Doris Rouse in Albia, Iowa. Bob served honorably in the United States Army during World War II. Robert L. “Bob” Stout, age 88, of rural West Chester, Iowa, died Sunday, March 22, 2015, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
